Five Guys: the holy grail of good quality fast food burger establishments, has come to London and tonight I took my brother for a pre birthday treat. It fucking delivered. My fingers currently smell like onions and I can still taste the peach sprite zero on my lips but I’m happy. It’s like being in America (but actually being in Covent Garden) which is highly enjoyable for someone like me who spends a lot of time obsessing over the US of A. I ordered a regular bacon cheeseburger (which has TWO patties so is far from regular) with grilled onions, relish, ketchup, mayo, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes. The toppings are free and there’s 15 to choose from so you can go all out if you want to. My brother had the same but with less toppings and lots of jalapeños, we had one of each fries (Cajun and normal) to share and we both so got ever so excited about the coca cola machine with over a hundred options of drinks choices we didn’t know where to begin. I had strawberry fanta zero, cherry vanilla diet coke and peach sprite zero. THE CHOICES, OH THE CHOICES. I can not stress enough how vital it is you all go and try Five Guys, the burger is immense, the bacon is hands down the crispiest most amazing bacon I’ve ever sampled in my life and the drinks machine is basically the creme de la creme of all beverage dispensers so you’d be a fool not to go! The queues are long but it’s worth it, I promise. The staff are friendly – they’re mostly American so this goes without saying and the decor is so authentic you may forget what country your in. Oh, and they have free monkey nuts for people waiting. What else do you want?!
